After submitting Becky Lynch in the first match of the Royal Rumble Pay Per View, Asuka looks poised for a dominant SmackDown Women’s Championship reign in 2019. But who will put her to the test at WWE WrestleMania 35?

Asuka joined the WWE main roster with all the hype in the world, having been undefeated in NXT as the brand’s most impressive champion. In fact, she had the longest undefeated streak in WWE history, making her the most dominant wrestler in the promotion’s history.

Unfortunately, The Empress of Tomorrow couldn’t keep that streak going at WrestleMania 34, falling to Charlotte Flair’s Figure Eight after a grueling match that stole the show. Asuka successfully ran through the Raw roster, including Nia Jax and Sasha Banks, but she was unable to overcome The Queen, who was seemingly built up for a WWE WrestleMania 35 match against Ronda Rousey.

Much of the attention heading into ‘Mania is focused on that potential Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey Triple Threat for the Raw Women’s Championship, but Asuka did beat The Man one-on-one at the Rumble. And the SmackDown Women’s Championship did main event the TLC Pay Per View.

So all eyes should be on Asuka’s opponent at WrestleMania, and there are a number of excellent options for The Empress. Here are three of them, with all three women being wrestlers Asuka previously faced in title matches.
