The Riott Squad Should Win The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles

With Elimination Chamber right around the corner, The Riott Squad should be positioned to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Contrary to popular belief, there’s not many true opportunities in WWE to forever make history.

Sure, there are great matches and promos that will be looked back upon at some point as enjoyable, but opportunities to write an entire new chapter in the company’s storied history are few.

At Elimination Chamber, one of those opportunities will present itself when the first Women’s Tag Team Champions are crowned since the late 1980’s.

While there’s certainly no shortage of talented superstars who could have a great run with the titles, one team in particular stands out above the rest.

The Riott Squad have proven themselves to be the perfect superstars to make history by being the first team to hoist the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in decades.

The trio of Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan are one of the best teams in the company today. Each member of The Riott Squad brings something unique and exciting to the table which has helped them to forge a connection with WWE audiences everywhere.

Ruby Riott, for example, is one of the most underrated wrestlers in the company today. Riott’s proven time and time again that she’s capable of some outstanding ring work that can back up the confident swagger she leads her team with.

Similarly, Liv Morgan’s improved by leaps and bounds in the ring during her time on the main roster so far. Her athleticism, combined with a gimmick that has led her to becoming one of the most recognizable competitors on the roster, have only strengthened the profile of The Riott Squad.

Last, but definitely not least, Sarah Logan has quietly cemented herself as one of the most powerful women on the roster. Logan’s move-set is continuing to expand with new, explosive spots appearing in many of the team’s matches. As such, it should only be a matter of time before she can tap into even more of the repertoire we saw her unleash on the independent scene as ‘Crazy’ Mary Dobson.

In fact, it should only be a matter of time before we see The Riott Squad altogether reach new heights in WWE.

They have all the elements that could make up a dominant force in the company, yet they’ve lacked the opportunity to cement themselves in the company.

Far too often, The Riott Squad has been stuck in filler rivalries with whatever other superstars were directionless in the company. There’s been almost too many throwaway tag matches to count in the past several months for the talented trio, yet they’ve always managed to maintain a strong connection with fans regardless.

That fact alone should be proof enough for WWE to put the Women’s Tag Team Championships on The Riott Squad.

However, it’s indeed important to note that The Riott Squad are far from the only competitors who could put forth a compelling case for becoming the new tag champs.

Teams like The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection and Absolution have also showed their undeniable talent on many occasions in recent months. A case could certainly be made for either team to walk out of Elimination Chamber as the new champions.

The only problem is that both teams could just as easily break up as they could win the titles.

Sasha Banks and Bayley’s tenuous relationship is well documented in WWE. The company has teased one of the two turning heel numerous times in the past. It’s almost something which fans are eager to anticipate at this point as a result.

Additionally, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville have also been presented at being at odds with one another lately. With drastically different gimmicks, it seems like only a matter of time before WWE sends those two on their separate ways as well.

The Riott Squad, on the other hand, already appear like they could be the women’s tag division’s equivalent to The New Day. That’s just another way of saying there’s a good chance this trio stays together in WWE indefinitely.

No signs of disillusion with their fellow team members have surround The Riott Squad in the same way it’s surrounded some of the other top contenders. In fact, each member of the team went as far as getting matching tattoos to commemorate their WWE debut together.

If that doesn’t signify a team in it for the long haul, I don’t know what does.

That kind of long-lasting partnership makes it easy to see The Riott Squad as one of the teams that could become a pillar of the women’s tag division for years to come.

When all is said and done, that really just goes as another reason why The Riott Squad should leave Elimination Chamber with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. It’s the perfect time for the company to once and for all push this trio to new heights.
