The Feb. 11 edition of WWE Raw was a bit slow at times, but it ultimately succeeded in adding further hype and anticipation towards a couple of huge WrestleMania 35 matches, including the most anticipated women’s match in WrestleMania history.

Last night’s WWE Raw wasn’t flawless from start to finish, but enough good was done to help out the upcoming Elimination Chamber pay-per-view and, of course, the road to WrestleMania.

There are two pay-per-views on the main roster left until the show of shows, but everything seems to be coming together.  Let’s take a look at five key takeaways from the Feb. 11 edition of WWE Raw.

5. Combining Multiple Storylines Did The Intercontinental Championship Picture No Favors

It was a nice change of pace to see Bobby Lashley become the Intercontinental Champion several weeks back.  It had been over a decade since Lashley last held a championship in the WWE, and given his recent heel run, he deserved the opportunity.

However, Lashley’s reign could be in peril at Elimination Chamber when he defends the title against Finn Balor, who has been on a wave of momentum lately.  Last night was the final chance to build towards this match, but it ended up being a bit too much.  Things started out as a simple one-on-one match between Balor and Drew McIntyre with Lashley sitting ringside.

This match wouldn’t pan out, however, with Lashley and Lio Rush getting involved and ultimately causing a disqualification.  Lashley and McIntyre tried teaming up on Balor, but then Kurt Angle came out to thwart the attack.  This led to Baron Corbin coming out and jumping Angle from behind and a three-on-one attack until Braun Strowman came out and stopped things dead in their tracks.  Inevitably, it turned into a six-man tag team match.

It’s not that it was a bad match, but it went on far too long.  This entire segment, including the Balor vs. McIntyre match, took up 30-45 minutes of airtime.  It did end on a high note, however, with Balor pinning Lashley to get the win for his team.  This saved the situation a bit, but all of these outside shenanigans didn’t help out the Intercontinental Championship picture.  It just combined a couple different angles into what started out as building to Balor vs. Lashley.

Things got a bit out of hand during this portion of the show, but Balor pinning Lashley helped get things back on track.
