Kofi Kingston is the talk of the WWE world after his performance on Tuesday, but there are many more reasons to appreciate what he’s done throughout his career.

The unfortunate circumstance that forced Mustafa Ali out of Sunday’s Elimination Chamber PPV is a sad situation. Ali was quickly becoming one of the most intriguing figures to watch across WWE as he continued to excel with everything sent his way. But with his exit, that opened the door for a veteran who many may say was in the same position as Ali years before.

Kofi Kingston has been added to the Elimination Chamber, but what he did on SmackDown television this past Tuesday reminded people of how great a professional wrestler he has been during his 13-year run with the company. Kingston stole the show on Tuesday, putting on great matches with Daniel Bryan, Jeff Hardy, and Samoa Joe before falling to AJ Styles. It was clear that Kingston wasn’t going to win this match, but this was a showcase for the 37-year old competitor.

He’s spent the last few years as a part of the successful stable The New Day, but many new WWE viewers and perhaps some that have been around for longer were quickly reminded that Kingston is the real deal. He may be looked at as a tag team specialist, but he is clearly capable of getting the job done as a singles star.

There are growing calls for The New Day to be pushed in separate directions; to give each man something fresh to work with.  As that stance grows in favor, one must not forget what Kingston has shown us since bursting onto the scene with what was then the ECW brand of WWE.

Tuesday’s featured spot is reason to look back at all the great moments that Kingston has given fans during his career. And these moments are not just the “spots” he’s become known for in the Royal Rumble or ladder matches; but moments where he slowed glimmers that he is a star – that he has what it takes to be among the best of this generation.
