At the inaugural WWE NXT UK TakeOver Special in Blackpool this January, wrestling fans saw Kay Lee Ray and Jazzy Gabert drinking in the action as members of the audience. Now, they have officially joined the roster of the promotion’s newest brand.

WWE aims to be the largest entertainment company in the world, and their next phase of development centers around expanding into as many different markets as possible. The early success of the NXT UK brand has been a promising development for WWE, and the atmosphere for their first TakeOver special in the United Kingdom couldn’t have been any better.

At that show in Blackpool, the NXT Universe saw Kay Lee Ray and Jazzy Gabert in the crowd, as the cameras panned to two of the most recognizable stars in women’s wrestling. Gabert and KLR have put on great matches all over the world, and they were even participants in the first Mae Young Classic, with Gabert catching the WWE Universe’s attention during the tournament.

According to a post on WWE.com, NXT UK has officially signed five wrestlers, and Kay Lee Ray and Gabert are among them. The others? Oliver Sauter, Jay Melrose, and future breakout star Ilja Rukober.

But of those five names, Gabert and KLR are undoubtedly the two biggest. They are among the best wrestlers in the world, and KLR, in particular, is a huge get for WWE. She is capable of wrestling comedy matches, can cut quality promos, can wrestle as a heel or face, and is both a technical wizard and standout in death matches. Gabert is one of the best, too, as her character work, strength, and technical ability give her an incredibly high ceiling in terms of star potential in WWE.

As the NXT UK brand continues to grow in 2019, Gabert and KLR figure to become key members of the roster. This is a huge injection of star power for the brand, especially since both women bring plenty of experience and elite wrestling ability to the table. Both women will elevate the brand, which already includes stars like Jinny, Toni Storm, Pete Dunne, Rhea Ripley, Zack Gibson, and Tyler Bate.
