Candice LeRae is one of the most accomplished intergender wrestlers in the world, but the WWE NXT Superstar hasn’t been given any opportunities to showcase this on television. At a Live Event, however, LeRae took out Adam Cole with a lovely hurricanrana.

Though she has never been in the WWE NXT Women’s Championship picture, the WWE Universe knows that Candice LeRae is capable of winning the title one day. When LeRae joined the Performance Center in the beginning of 2018, there was plenty of buzz surrounding her, with fans creating a list of intergender dream matches for the independent wrestling legend.

LeRae changed the game in so many ways outside of WWE, so it’s been frustrating to see her used as a story-telling device in Johnny Gargano’s path to the NXT Championship. At a recent NXT Live Event in Cleveland, however, LeRae gave the fans a glimpse of her ability in intergender matches by hitting old foe Adam Cole with a Reverse Rana off the second rope.

You can view a video of the slick move here, courtesy of WKYC Channel 3 News’s Ben Axelrod. And with a hat tip to Wrestling Inc.’s Joshua Gagnon.

At Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s (PWG) Mystery Vortex II show in 2014, LeRae and Cole put together one of the most famous intergender matches in recent memory. WWE has hyped LeRae’s intergender record before, uploading a video in August 2017, during the first Mae Young Classic in which LeRae was a participant, with the headline “Meet the woman who went toe-to-toe with Kevin Owens”.

However, we’ve never seen LeRae showcase this in NXT. Perhaps that will come one day – Tommaso Ciampa had better watch out – because WWE has shown more of an interest in putting together intergender matches and segments, most notably with Nia Jax at the Royal Rumble this year.

Even in this instance where LeRae hit Cole with a Reverse Rana, she was just setting up Gargano for a “Gargano Escape” and a victory in his hometown against the Undisputed Era’s leader. Still, it was awesome to see a clip of LeRae taking down Cole in an NXT ring, as a callback to their match nearly five years ago and as a possible sign that LeRae can do more of this in WWE.
