WWE WrestleMania 35 hasn’t even taken place, but Roman Reigns already has his eyes on a dream WrestleMania 36 Universal Championship opponent: Seth ‘Freaking’ Rollins.

All feels right in the WWE Universe right now, as The Shield are reunited and put on a vintage performance in the main event of Fastlane. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose put their bodies on the line, Roman Reigns was unstoppable, and the heels felt the full fury of the greatest wrestling faction of our era (well, The New Day are up there, too).

Reigns’s WrestleMania 35 opponent is totally up in the air, but there’s speculation that Ambrose, who is apparently on his way out of WWE and also doesn’t have an opponent scheduled, could be his ideal matchup this year.

However, Reigns also has his eyes on facing a Shield brother at WrestleMania 36. He told WFF that he’d like to main event ‘Mania 36 against Rollins in a Universal Title match.

Fightful.com’s wonderful Jeremy Lambert has the transcription:

"“I’d like to close the show and I’d like to wrestle Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship. I’d like to get my rematch one year from now.”"

Rollins and Reigns have put on so many great matches together, including a WWE Championship match at Money in the Bank 2017 that featured one of the greatest counters of all-time – the spear into a pedigree.

There’s no doubt that Rollins vs. Reigns for the Universal Title would be a WrestleMania-worthy main event, and if that were to happen, it could mean that Rollins holds the title for a year. With how well he performed last year as Monday Night Rollins, Seth has shown that he is capable of holding one of WWE’s most prized titles for a lengthy period of time.

Of course, Rollins will have to conquer The Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 35 first. It’s a task that Reigns couldn’t even manage last year, but Rollins has the full support of The Shield behind him as he heads into New York City. This is a huge moment for Rollins, but since The Architect once walked out of WrestleMania with a world title, he’s capable of doing it again.

And thanks to Reigns, if Rollins is able to pull off the stunning victory, the WWE Universe will be salivating at a potential Rollins vs. Reigns Universal Title match in Tampa next year.

However, if Ambrose decides to hang around in WWE, the idea of a “Shield” Triple Threat in the main event of ‘Mania will return, and I’d be all for it.
