WWE: Alexa Bliss Hosting WrestleMania Is Her Latest Notable Accolade
The WWE Universe has been waiting in anticipation for Alexa Bliss’s role at WWE WrestleMania 35, and while she won’t be wrestling at the show, she announced that she will play a key role as the host.
On the Mar. 11 episode of Raw, Alexa Bliss announced the host of WWE WrestleMania 35 on her talk show “Moment of Bliss”. And, of course, she announced herself as the host, joining a list of names that includes The Rock, The New Day, and another mainstream star in Kim Kardashian.
Bliss has been one of WWE‘s best talkers since being called up to the main roster in 2016, and she’s been tremendous in her role as a talk show host on “Moment of Bliss”. There’s no doubt she will kill it at WrestleMania in this role as host, and it will be interesting to see how she plays off of Saturday Night Live hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che, who will be special correspondents at WWE’s “Show of Shows” on Apr. 7 in New York City.
While it’s disappointing to hear that Bliss, who has put in extra work at the Performance Center with Mike Quackenbush, won’t wrestle at ‘Mania, she’s been involved in title matches in back-to-back editions of the show, including entering WrestleMania 33 and 34 as the SmackDown and Raw Women’s Champion, respectively.
Bliss won’t wrestle at WrestleMania 35, but, again, she’ll have a notable role and will get to show every wrestling fan how versatile she is as a performer. Her heel promos gained widespread acclaim, but she can be great in a more toned-down role, moving the hectic WrestleMania show along nicely as its host.
I also got a kick out of Bliss’s announcement when she made her “scoop”, as she feigned surprise and said that she didn’t even have a speech prepared.
The fact that Bliss will host WrestleMania is yet another example of how much WWE values and trusts her, because, given the past names who have hosted ‘Mania like The Rock and The New Day, this is a notable gig.
