Chelsea Green will be one of WWE NXT’s biggest stars soon, but the “Hot Mess” will need some time to recover from a wrist injury she suffered at the brand’s tapings on Mar. 13.

It seems like every week, wrestling fans are reminded of how dangerous this sport is and how tough all the competitors in the ring are. At the recent WWE NXT tapings, Chelsea Green suffered a broken wrist in her first match in front of the Full Sail University crowd, announcing the news on her Instagram page. [Hat tip to Wrestling Inc.’s Robert Gunier for the story.]

Green suffered the injury during a dark match victory over Jessie Elaban, who was one of the stars present at the Mae Young Classic 2 last year, finishing the match through the injured wrist. (It really is amazing how tough wrestlers are!)

In her Instagram post, Green informed the NXT Universe that she’d need surgery on the wrist first thing in the morning on Mar. 14, adding,

"“I’m angry, I’m sore… but I’ll be back soon. This is just a tiny bump in the road to many goals I have set for 2019!”"

Amen. It’s a tough setback for Green, who has all the potential in the world as both a wrestler and character in WWE, but she’ll be back and better than ever after healing up from this wrist injury; 2019 could still very well be her year.

Green’s work in Impact Wrestling and Lucha Underground – as Laurel Van Ness and Reklusa, respectively – speaks for itself, and she’s already earned rave reviews for her “Hot Mess” character on the NXT Live Event circuit.

She’ll shine whenever she makes her debut at WWE NXT’s tapings, but, for now, it’s all about sending positive vibes out to the universe for her recovery. I can’t wait to see her on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on the WWE Network in the future!
