WWE Raw: Kurt Angle will announce his ‘farewell’ opponent in Chicago
On the Mar. 11 episode of WWE Raw, Kurt Angle told the fans in his hometown of Pittsburgh that his final match would take place at WrestleMania 35. Next Monday, the Olympic gold medalist will reveal his final opponent.
Kurt Angle is one of the most decorated wrestlers in history, so all eyes will be on him next week on the episode of WWE Raw in Chicago. The promotion announced on their website that Angle will reveal his WrestleMania 35 opponent on Monday, as this will be the final match of his career.
There are plenty of potential options for Angle, including Drew McIntyre, who humiliated him months ago by beating him with his own finisher, and Baron Corbin, who displaced Angle as GM at one point after a power struggle on Raw.
But it seems like most fans would like to see Angle take on John Cena, a fellow WWE legend, in a match that would bring his career full circle. After all, Cena made his debut by attacking Angle, claiming that his “Ruthless Aggression” would enable him to go up against the very best in the business. Spoiler alert: That Ruthless Aggression allowed Cena to become the very best in the business.
On Monday Night Raw in Chicago on Mar. 18, Angle will make his WrestleMania opponent official, and Cena seems like the most fitting “Farewell” opponent for Angle. Cena would be able to get an important win in a heart-warming moment, as he’s been busy putting over other wrestlers on the roster, such as Finn Balor. As for McIntyre, it seems like he has a match lined up against Roman Reigns after brutally attacking both Reigns and Dean Ambrose on last week’s WWE Raw.
Kurt Angle will have a stellar match regardless of his opponent at MetLife, and his final match in Pittsburgh against Apollo Crews, who was inspired by Angle to become a pro wrestler, certainly hit the spot.
