The March 19 edition of WWE SmackDown will go down as one of the most important shows on the road to WrestleMania with huge developments throughout the show.

Last night’s WWE SmackDown saw Kofi Kingston get the opportunity of a lifetime in the midst of a seemingly insurmountable gauntlet match, but the rest of the show was important for WrestleMania as well.

The game is being changed on Tuesday nights and that will directly affect the course of the granddaddy of them all.  With that being said, let’s take a look at a few grades from the March 19 edition of WWE SmackDown.

4. Opening Segment

The shocking breakup of The Miz and Shane McMahon at Fastlane was one of the better heel turns in recent memory in the WWE.  Shane O’Mac caught everyone by surprise when he attacked The Miz after their loss to The Usos, but he took it even farther when he put his hands on Miz’s father, who had to watch his son get beat down.

Shane said why he did what he did last week and it basically comes down to him only looking out for himself from now on.  He said he enjoyed every second of beating The Miz down right in front of his father.  Last night saw The Miz’s response when he opened up the show and made sure Shane O’Mac got a piece of his mind.

Miz said was totally bought into the tag team he had going with Shane, but what Shane did was vile and despicable.  He said the reason he wanted to team with Shane in the first place was that he wanted to make his father proud, but seeing Shane put his hands on his father crossed the line.  The A-Lister didn’t hold back from that point on and continued to voice his displeasures with Shane.

He added that Shane wasn’t born the best because he was a McMahon, he was born the worst.  The Miz also put Vince and Shane in the same boat and said they were over-privileged billionaires, more or less.  The segment was wrapped up with The Miz saying he can’t wait to get his hands on Shane on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania.  This was a great segment and just further proved how great The Miz can be on the mic.

In one of the most personal feuds heading into WrestleMania 35, The A-Lister knocked it out of the park last night.
