Ronda Rousey is asked about WrestleMania

After the match, we saw a brief backstage interview with Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey who was shadowboxing to warm up for her match later in the night. Her message was simple about what could happen to Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch on Sunday, but followed it by saying that judgment could come tonight depending on how her tag team match goes down.

Grade: A, The less Rousey says, the better her segments usually go. This one was simple but effective.

Alexa Bliss, Tyler Breeze, and EC3 are approached by Braun Strowman

In another backstage segment on WWE Raw, we saw WrestleMania host Alexa Bliss speaking to Tyler Breeze. As she gloated about the big moments planned for WrestleMania, some mocking by the nearby EC3 turned into laughter when Colin Jost and Michael Che were mentioned. Breeze and EC3 were laughing about the most recent “Weekend Update” by Jost and Che, only for Braun Strowman to appear seconds later.

He asked about the laughing, and they said “those guys” were laughing about “Weekend Update.” Strowman approached what were likely two local talents backstage and told them to meet him in the ring later tonight or he’d find them backstage again and they’d “get these hands.”

Grade: A, The trend of fun, but short segments continues. Great stuff here by everyone, and it looks like Strowman is gonna destroy some local indie wrestlers to make a point.

Roman Reigns is asked about his readiness for WrestleMania

Things then turned to Roman Reigns, who was approached backstage for an interview about his impending match with Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 35. There was a mention of rumors that Reigns might not be fully ready to compete on Sunday, which Roman quickly pushed back against. However, his response didn’t last long before The Scottish Psychopath ambushed him once again.

McIntyre attacked Roman, throwing him into a nearby equipment box and set of barricades. McIntyre was backed off when backstage producers broke things up, and a furious Roman Reigns slowly got to his feet and looked eager for revenge.

Grade: A, The build for McIntyre vs. Reigns has been really special, and this was yet another glimpse of that. These two are eager to clash, and the hype is very real.

Becky Lynch is asked about WrestleMania

The fourth brief backstage segment in a row talked to Becky Lynch, who didn’t even let a question get asked before interrupting. She emphasized that she didn’t care what Charlotte Flair had to say and claimed she has had Rousey beat for months because of triggering Rousey’s “god complex.” Lynch stated that Rousey is most beatable when she feels she’s untouchable, and Becky then made her way to the ring after stating she won’t lose her cool tonight and lose her shot on Sunday.

Grade: A, Lynch is true straight fire on the mic, and even this brief moment showed that. Her nonchalant attitude was on display, and it was clear she’s not worried at all about her chances at WrestleMania 35.
