WWE Raw Results, Highlights, and Grades for April 1, 2019
Chad Gable & Bobby Roode vs. Heavy Machinery
With the chaos of the previous segment still on everyone’s mind, we got a brief match where Heavy Machinery took on Chad Gable and Bobby Roode. It was a decent short bit of action, only to get interrupted by Lacey Evans. Of course, all Lacey did was walk onto the ramp and then leave moments later. Gable and Roode tried to regain control after the distraction, but it didn’t take long for Heavy Machinery to gain some momentum and land The Compacter to pick up a tag team win.
Grade: C, This felt like a breather after the chaos before it, and a short match and pointless Lacey Evans appearance didn’t help. My entire reaction to this is “meh.”
Braun Strowman vs. “Michael Che” and “Colin Jost”
Next up, we saw the two local competitors who were approached earlier in the night compete against Braun Strowman in a tag team match. Strowman insisted he would pretend they were Michael Che and Colin Jost, and what followed was complete destruction.
Strowman beat them down, threw them out of the ring, shoulder tackled them into oblivion, and finished things off by powerslamming both of them at the same time. If Colin Jost and Michael Che get in Strowman’s path on Sunday, it could be just as brutal.
Grade: B, This wasn’t anything special, but it was a fun squash match that saw two local guys get a few moments of fame while getting demolished by Braun Strowman
