WWE WrestleMania 35: 4 replacements if Rey Mysterio is injured
Kevin Owens
After competing against Daniel Bryan and Ali in a WWE Championship match at Fastlane, Kevin Owens hasn’t been in a title picture. Owens recently returned from injuries to both knees and has been a babyface, which the crowd just can’t get enough of. After doing a tremendous job in a “Kevin Owens Show” segment with WWE WrestleMania 35 main eventers Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, Owens helped hype up another WrestleMania match this week between Randy Orton and AJ Styles.
Owens doesn’t have a match scheduled for WrestleMania as of yet, and the WWE Universe would love to see him get something big at the Show of Shows. Maybe there is something huge planned for the former Universal Champion, but, if not, a United States Title match with Samoa Joe would be almost as big of a dream match as, say, Cena vs. Joe.
Of course, Owens has plenty of history with the United States Championship. Who can forget his debut feud with Cena himself? His feud with Chris Jericho? Legendary. Or how about Owens’s series of matches in the summer of 2017 against AJ Styles? Owens has been at the center of some of the greatest feuds involving the US Title recently, and he and Joe could work some magic on SmackDown Live if that were to become a program.
The more I think about it, the more I’m getting my hopes up for this as the replacement match if Rey Mysterio, whose health is of paramount importance, can’t wrestle on Sunday. Owens is a three-time US Champion and most likely wouldn’t beat Samoa Joe, but, man, the two would have a tremendous match.
