WWE WrestleMania 35: It was awesome seeing Ember Moon back out there
Wrestling fans haven’t seen Ember Moon compete since the Royal Rumble, but she made her return at WWE WrestleMania 35 for the Women’s Battle Royal.
One day, as Sean Waltman said at the Hall of Fame, the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal will be known as the Chyna Memorial Battle Royal. The WWE WrestleMania 35 version of the battle royal featured several big names, including Kairi Sane and Candice LeRae from NXT, but perhaps nobody was a more pleasant surprise than Ember Moon.
A future Raw or SmackDown Women’s Champion, Moon has been out with an injury since the Women’s Rumble. She started off the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal on fire, hitting some big moves, including a couple of eclipses on Lana and Mandy Rose. Moon then had a wonderful exchange with Naomi, perhaps teasing a future dream match with the two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion!
However, Moon’s night at WrestleMania 35 was cut short, as Lana got her revenge for the Eclipse, eliminating Moon. She became the third huge fan favorite to be thrown out of the ring early, joining Naomi, the first WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal winner in 2018, and Nikki Cross, who should have been showcased in this match as a recent main roster call-up. The crowd, of course, booed Moon’s elimination, and Lana took advantage of the additional heat.
Despite the sour end to her night, it was awesome to see Ember Moon healthy and back in the ring. She is one of the best wrestlers in WWE, and hopefully 2019 is her year. Moon was an exceptional NXT Women’s Champion, and perhaps she will even renew her rivalry against Asuka on the main roster.
There’s no doubt that Moon makes everyone in the ring better, and The Eclipse alone is often worth the price of admission. All eyes will be on her status for Raw or SmackDown on the television episodes after WrestleMania, because while she’s currently on the Raw roster, perhaps a move to SmackDown could do her well.
