WrestleMania 2000: Edge and Christian vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. The Hardy Boyz (Triangle Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships)

WrestleMania 2000 was hurt in many ways by its lack of traditional matches. This is perhaps the one match that benefited from the unusual structure of the card. Edge and Christian, the goofy, aloof heels took on the no-nonsense Dudley Boyz and the beloved daredevil Hardy Boyz.

The three teams managed to put on a match and performance so unique that it birthed an entirely new match type later in the year, the TLC match. This match was controlled chaos at its finest, filled with dives off of and onto ladders and broken table after broken table.

D-Von Dudley attempted to dive off a ladder onto Jeff Hardy, who dodged, sending D-Von crashing through a table. Simultaneously, Bubba Ray Dudley powerbombed Matt Hardy off the Spanish announce table through another table. Jeff Hardy then ascended an absolutely enormous ladder on the entrance ramp and dove off, driving Bubba Ray through a table.

Ultimately, it was Edge and Christian who would prevail, standing atop a table that had been wedged to form a bridge between two ladders after pushing Matt Hardy from the top through yet another table. The three teams made history this night, taking years off of their respective careers and easily putting on the best match of what was largely an overbooked and lackluster WrestleMania.

Yet, they were far from done. In fact, their best performance on The Grandest Stage of Them All was yet to come.
