WWE WrestleMania 35 was an amazing night with so many special moments that changed the complexion of WWE as a whole, but the night passing also means it’s time to look to the future. WWE Money in the Bank 2019 comes to us in just under six weeks, and there are already indications about how that night may look.

This year’s edition of Money in the Bank comes to us on May 19, 2019 and is just under six weeks away. One of WWE’s most exciting pay-per-view events of the year descends upon the XL Center in Hartford, CT. While a lot of things could change between now and then, there are some things we know to expect at Money in the Bank.

Most obviously, we should get at least two Money in the Bank Ladder Matches, one for the men and one for the women. We can also expect several titles to be defended. Exactly how those matches look will become more clear in the coming weeks, but here’s a glimpse of what we might be able to look forward to at Money in the Bank.

Cruiserweight Championship Match: Tony Nese (c) vs. Drew Gulak

The first match predicted for that event will feature the stalwarts of 205 Live, and Tony Nese in his first big title defense after capturing the championship at WrestleMania 35. Without a guaranteed rematch, Buddy Murphy could find himself struggling to get a shot at the title he’s lost. If Murphy isn’t the one taking on the new champion, the next best choice has got to be Nese’s former ally Drew Gulak.

These two men have quite the history in 205 Live, but most recently squared off in the tournament to decide who got the opportunity to face Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania 35. Nese defeated Gulak in the semifinals of that tournament, but the man who often fights for “A Better 205 Live” had a great showing and could earn himself a shot at the new champion. These two would give us a great match, and it would be a good first test for Nese as champion.

Baron Corbin vs. Apollo Crews

Money in the Bank is likely to have at least one non-title match, and this is the one I’m expecting as things stand right now. Baron Corbin, like him or not, got a huge win over Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35. We can almost certainly expect Corbin to gloat as loudly as possible tonight on WWE Raw, and he’ll continue that until someone tries to stop him. If anyone is due to get the chance to shut Corbin up, the perfect choice has got to be Apollo Crews.

During Kurt Angle’s Farewell Tour on WWE Raw, Crews was one of his best opponents, and showed his utmost respect for Angle. Crews picked up a win over Corbin three weeks ago on WWE Raw, but Corbin responded with a win of his own two weeks ago. We could see the renewal of this rivalry with Crews looking to defend Angle from Corbin’s gloating in Angle’s absence. If we get this match, you can expect a good back and forth contest, and hopefully a big PPV singles win for Apollo Crews.
