The IIconics (c) vs. The Brooklyn Belles for the Women’s Tag Team Championships

Result: The IIconics retain in a squash match

After entering the arena to interrupt Braun Strowman, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are here to celebrate their Women’s Tag Team Championship victory.

Kay says that the IIconics will defend their titles against any tag team at any time and any place. Royce and Kay say that they have arranged a tag team match against the best opponents they could find in Brooklyn, talking up “The Brooklyn Belles” 45-0 record.

Corey Graves couldn’t get the names of the competitors right despite trying to highlight that they are top competition for Kay and Royce, feigning concern that the IIconics could lose their titles on WWE SmackDown tonight.

Royce and Kay quickly team up and pose, and Paige, whom we see backstage watching the match, is mildly amused at this uneven tag match that the IIconics evidently booked themselves into. Paige, of course, is the former general manager of SmackDown Live.

The IIconics taunt their opponents, and they only start getting serious when Kay has to kick out at two. They hit their tag team finisher, and put their opponents away for a squash victory in their first Women’s Tag Team Championships title defense.

Kayla Braxton meets up with Paige backstage and asks her what she’s doing on the Blue Brand. Paige hypes up the Superstar Shakeup and the new Women’s Tag Team Championships, putting over the IIconics for ending the Brooklyn Belles undefeated streak.

Paige then tells Kayla B a secret…she’ll be bringing a new tag team to WWE’s main roster on next week’s Superstar Shakeup! Who could it be? The Sky Pirates? Borne and Boujee? Someone else?

Grade: B-, It would’ve been better if the IIconics defended their titles against a better team, but there was solid character development here. Plus, it was awesome seeing Paige out there, and I enjoyed the tease at a new tag team! It seems like she might be their manager, too…
