Xavier Woods

In early 2018, Xavier Woods competed in a United States Championship Tournament and shined, reminding the WWE Universe why he’s a part of one of wrestling’s most legendary factions. Woods is an absolute genius inside the ring, and there may only be a handful of more creative superstars on the main roster right now.

A match between Woods and Finn Balor for the Intercontinental Championship would surprise wrestling fans, and it’d be one of those “this is the match I never knew I needed” deals. I could envision these two having great chemistry, trading counters and pulling off some creative spots on the outside after a couple of desperation dives.

Since Kofi Kingston won the WWE Championship, it’d be nice for the other two members of The New Day to gun for titles as well. Woods and Big E are more than capable, and E is a former Intercontinental Champion. However, Woods, who was a singles standout in TNA as “Consequences Creed”, has yet to capture singles gold in WWE despite being a five-time tag team champion.

Though Woods is unlikely to unseat Balor, a great match with the IC Champion could plant a seed in the WWE Universe’s mind that Woods is indeed capable of being a mid-card champion. The New Day are one of wrestling’s greatest factions, so why not give all their members a chance at some singles gold, too?
