Drew McIntyre made an appearance on the episode of WWE SmackDown after WrestleMania to team up with The Bar against The New Day, and there are rumblings that he may have suffered an injury during the six-man tag main event.

Formerly “The Chosen One” in WWE, Drew McIntyre has some past history with SmackDown Live, and he finally made an appearance on the “Blue Brand” last night. Sheamus and Cesaro introduced him to The New Day as a friend they met on Raw the previous night, when they interfered in Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins’ “Winner Take All” match.

According to Wrestling Inc.’s Marc Middleton, McIntyre may have suffered an injury during the main event six-man tag match that put McIntyre and The Bar against Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E.

A correspondent, David Taylor Stengal, told Middleton that McIntyre appeared to be waving off someone who was conversing with him, before exiting the arena on his own. However, the correspondent added that McIntyre did seem to be “hurt”.

That would explain why McIntyre seemed to disappear during the match, as he didn’t feature prominently in a main event that could have set up a future WWE Championship match against Kingston on the “Blue Brand” following the Superstar Shakeup. McIntyre would be a perfect addition to SmackDown Live, and it would allow him to get some breathing room from former rivals Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

We can only hope that McIntyre is either not injured or merely suffered a minor injury. We’ve seen McIntyre come back better than ever from injuries before, such as when he tore his bicep in an NXT Championship match against Andrade “Cien” Almas. However, McIntyre seems headed for big things in 2019 despite a WrestleMania loss to Reigns, so an injury now would be a tough blow to the future world champion.
