3. He’s got unfinished business on SmackDown

We mentioned in the intro that the last time Drew McIntyre was on SmackDown, he was a glorified jobber with 3MB. However, the first time he was on SmackDown, it was a much different story. During his initial late 2000’s-early 2010’s run on the blue brand, he was a force to be reckoned with primed to be a future World Champion.

In fact, during his initial and official 2009 debut on SmackDown, he was introduced by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon as the future of the industry and a “future World Heavyweight Champion.” You cannot ask for a better way to debut a new WWE Champion.

Sadly, through a few in-ring and real life fumbles (including a suspension), McIntyre failed to live up to expectations and by 2012, he was forced to transition into becoming an enhancement talent. At the time, he just was not ready for the spotlight that WWE was getting him ready for.

However, in the years since them, McIntyre completely re-christened himself both physically and mentally into the ideal Superstar. He is more than ready for a main event World Title run now. It’s time to pick up where WWE left off so many years ago by making him the face of SmackDown Live.
