Sasha Banks vs. Bayley

WWE has teased break-ups with Sasha Banks and Bayley so many times, and they are in that “fight forever” bracket like Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens or the aforementioned Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. And just like Reigns and Rollins, Banks and Bayley would be more than capable of pulling off an instant classic in the main event of WrestleMania.

They have, after all, main evented in NXT and put together classics against each other, with their matches at TakeOver: Brooklyn and TakeOver: Respect standing the test of time as two of the greatest WWE matches of the modern era.

The worry with the Banks and Bayley rivalry is that their matches in NXT were so perfect – they seriously told one of the best stories in my lifetime – that it’ll be hard to top them on the main roster. It was the brilliant Tyler Breeze who brought up this point to the Boss’N’Hug Connection in 2018, too, when fans were wondering if the two could have a non-title match in the middle of the WrestleMania 34 or SummerSlam card.

However, there is a difference between a match like that and a title match in the main event of WrestleMania. Bayley and Banks would undoubtedly find that next gear with a title on the line and with the biggest spotlight possible; I have full confidence that they could top their instant classics in NXT on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Whether or not WWE gives them an opportunity to main event WrestleMania remains unclear, because Banks has a WrestleMania losing streak after the Boss’N’Hug Connection lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles at ‘Mania 35. However, both Sasha and Bayley have some of the most passionate fans of anyone in wrestling, so I wouldn’t put it past them to do the unthinkable if the timing is right and enough fans will it into existence.

Consider this the “wild card” of the potential options. But note that when they did have a feud teased in 2018, their segments were among WWE’s most-viewed on YouTube.
