3. Reclaim the Universal Championship That He Never Lost

Perhaps the most obvious reasoning for Roman Reigns to remain on WWE Raw is that The Big Dog has unfinished business. As touched on in the second reason, Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at SummerSlam 2018, only to be forced to vacate the title when he had to leave to fight leukemia. In the blink of an eye, Roman Reigns lost the title he’d fought so hard to earn without ever losing a match.

When he made his triumphant return in February after sending leukemia back into remission, Roman Reigns knew that Seth Rollins was poised to take on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35. He knew that his former Shield brother would do anything and everything possible to capitalize on the opportunity he earned by winning the Royal Rumble. Most importantly, he knew he’d get his shot when the time was right.

Rather than acting like an impatient former champion trying to force his way into that match, Reigns gave Rollins his support and let things play out. In the meantime, he dealt with the impossible to ignore threat that was “The Scottish Psychopath” Drew McIntyre. Despite his best efforts, McIntyre failed to topple Reigns at WrestleMania 35, and The Big Dog proved himself just as capable as ever.

Now that any questions about Roman’s readiness for competition after returning have been dispelled, and Seth Rollins has slayed The Beast Incarnate, Reigns can put his focus back on the title he never truly lost. There’s no doubt that Seth Rollins would be willing to give Roman Reigns the shot he deserves, and these two could reignite a storied rivalry.

I’m sure Rollins would prefer he remain champion for as long as possible and lead “Monday Night Rollins” all the way to WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, but The Big Dog is going to do everything in his power to reclaim the championship he never lost. Roman Reigns doesn’t belong on SmackDown Live because he has too much left to do on WWE Raw.
