WWE Money in the Bank 2019 will take place on May 19 in Hartford, Connecticut, and before the Superstar Shakeup takes place on April 15, let’s take a look at five early candidates to win the women’s MITB briefcase.

So far, there have been two women’s Money in the Bank briefcase winners, and both successfully cashed in their title opportunities. Carmella won the inaugural women’s ladder match, holding the briefcase for about a year before finally cashing in on Charlotte Flair, thanks to some help from the debuting IIconics. Meanwhile, Alexa Bliss seized her opportunity immediately, cashing in the briefcase on the same night to interrupt a great match between Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey; this began a summer-long feud with Ronda for the Raw Women’s Championships.

It feels like a rising star could win the women’s briefcase at WWE Money in the Bank 2019, much in the same way Carmella, who won this year’s WrestleMania Battle Royal, was catapulted to stardom with the briefcase.

The field feels wide open for the women’s ladder match, as there are so many wrestlers who could conceivably walk away from the match with a title opportunity in their hands. So let’s take a look at five early candidates to win about a month away from the “Big 5” Pay Per View, noting that we’ll get a clearer picture after the Superstar Shakeup.
