WWE Superstar Shakeup 2019: Full Predictions For Call-Ups, Trades
By Tom Colohue
WWE Superstar Shakeup 2019 will take place next week on April 15 and 16, so let’s take some time to predict how both brands will look after it’s done.
It is Superstar Shakeup season again, this time with the international flavor of being in Canada – somewhere so international that WWE has never been there before. Bret Hart is of course American, as the USA chants he received at WrestleMania 10 can attest. Chris Jericho has recently come out as Japanese. The WWE had never even heard of Canada before now!
Over the last couple of weeks, or in some cases months, we’ve seen a lot of people crossing brands. As recently as last week we saw the shows merge so tightly that basically anybody could be on any show at this point. Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman made an impact on SmackDown Live. Sheamus and Cesaro became the least popular men in the history of forever and, perhaps most shockingly, Aleister Black and Richochet were involved in both shows for the first time.
It’s not all about trades though. Despite the plethora of recent call-ups (some more successful than others) there is still a lot of talent in NXT that could be mined. NXT is basically full, so let’s call people up to cover for all those people supposedly quitting Raw and SmackDown. Who’s going where and, just as importantly, who’s coming up?
I’ve put together a list, comprehensive but not exhaustive, of three NXT call-ups and ten main roster trades. Five to Raw and five to SmackDown. Why do I think they’re moving? What exciting storylines are opened up by the moves in question? The Superstar Shakeup is a very exciting time to be a wrestling fan.
I’m Tom Colohue and these are my WWE Superstar Shakeup 2019 predictions.
