A Fresh Start

Sasha Banks has been on Raw for more than two years, and with reports that she’s frustrated with her situation in WWE, a fresh start has never been more necessary for “The Legit Boss”.

On Raw, she’s been together with Bayley from the start, and while there’s been fractures in their relationship, they became the perfect tag team in 2018 before winning the titles in the Elimination Chamber this year – the same structure that threatened to end their friendship for good in 2017 when the Raw Women’s Championship was on the line.

As a character, Banks has always striven for singles success, and even when she teamed up with Bayley, neither one of them stopped seeking out the opportunity to lead the Raw Women’s Division. It was Banks, of course, who had Ronda Rousey’s best match as a pro thus far, stealing the show at the Royal Rumble Pay Per View.

Though SmackDown is a two-hour show where time is at more of a premium, perhaps that shift could help Banks, who would make the most out of the opportunities given to her and could seek the spotlight in backstage promos. Though Road Dogg’s resignation could change how the Blue Brand is run for the remainder of 2019, SmackDown has always been the Land of Opportunity, especially when it comes to giving wrestlers a chance to showcase themselves in backstage promos. The Usos, Becky Lynch, and Daniel Bryan are among the superstars who have made a name for themselves via this promos.

Banks is an excellent promo in her own right, and a move to SmackDown could help her showcase more of that, in addition to giving her fresh one-on-one matchups after having given her all on Monday nights for more than two years.
