One of the more surprising moments from last Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania 35 event was when Tony Nese defeated Buddy Murphy for his coveted Cruiserweight Championship just a few miles away from his hometown of Long Island.

Murphy won the purple belt in his home country of Australia at WWE Super Show Down back in October. Since then, the Aussie Death Machine strapped the division onto his back and helped turn that brand into must see television. For 183 days straight, some of the best matches held under the WWE banner every week were airing on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. 9 times out of 10, they were matches featuring Buddy Murphy.

Now that his reign is over, it seems like he may be moving on to the next step of his WWE career. That next step will see the former NXT Tag Team Champion return to his old stomping grounds over on the yellow brand. As of this writing, it is unclear if Buddy’s return to NXT is permanent, but it has been confirmed that he will be challenging The Velveteen Dream next Wednesday for his NXT North American Championship.

If his return to NXT will not be a permanent one, then perhaps this is the first in many matches of what we shall dub “The Buddy Murphy Tour.” Maybe The Juggernaut of 205 Live will be going on a tour of the brands to establish his dominance across the WWE. If this is the case, then we have six WWE Superstars in mind who we want to see Buddy take on in singles competition.
