5. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens returned from injury earlier this year and apart from receiving a WWE Title match at Fastlane, the dude has admittedly done zilch since his return. The former Universal Champion did not even get himself a match for WrestleMania 35. In fact, he addressed being disappointed with the decision to keep him off the show in a recent tweet.

Thankfully, the Superstar Shake-Up can do a lot to give someone a fresh start. While KO has lacked much of a presence since returning last month, he could come back in full force for the new WWE calendar year.

A great way to help Owens get some much-needed momentum would be a match – maybe even a feud – with a young upstart in Buddy Murphy. In fact, a feud between these two could do a lot of good for both men in a veteran vs. rookie type of storyline, similar to The Prizefighter’s feud with John Cena upon first being called up to the main roster.

While Owens is still a rising star in his own right as his WWE career is still young, his nearly 20 year experience in the business overall puts him in that veteran category. It would be interesting to see Owens fill that role when faced with a rookie like Buddy Murphy trying to make a name for himself. It would introduce Murphy to the mainstream WWE audience while also creating a compelling rivalry.
