WWE: 6 Wrestlers We’d Love Buddy Murphy to Face in a ‘Tour’
1. Aleister Black
As of this writing, Aleister Black has yet to sign over to a brand. He has clearly seen his curtain call on the yellow show, but he has yet to officially align with either SmackDown or Raw. Regardless of what brand he is on, we all know without a shadow of a doubt that a match between Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy would – as all the cool kids say – SLAP.
Black’s 2018 saw him have not only NXT’s most compelling twist-filled storyline regarding who attacked him in the parking lot, but he was having some of the best matches of the year. His Takeover matches against the likes of Adam Cole, Lars Sullivan, Andrade and especially Johnny Gargano were all highly revered. By year’s end, some were still reviewed proudly as WWE’s best matches of 2018.
Meanwhile, as previously stated in the intro, Buddy was killing it on the purple brand in some of 205 Live’s best contests. His most notable opponents of the year were Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander, but he also had tremendous bouts going into 2019 against Akira Tozawa, Kalisto and Mark Andrews. His Fatal Four Way title defense from Royal Rumble 2019 is a prime example of how The Juggernaut is capable of stealing the show with just about anyone, much like The Dutch Destroyer.
Both men instill a swift, kick-heavy style to wrestling. Black more so as a fast high flyer while Buddy – despite his weight class – battles like a heavyweight-mean-guy who happens to be faster than his size may lead on. A match between these two would be an instant classic.
