The superstar shakeup is a few hours away, but these NXT stars should not be touched as remaining on NXT is in the best interest for their future.

It’s that time of the year again as another WrestleMania season has passed us by and it’s time to look forward to what’s next across the WWE brands. This week we are going to witness yet another superstar shakeup in which competitors from all WWE brands will be moved around to different shows. While this was once an exciting time of the year, it has been met with apprehension as WWE Creative has struggled to fully leverage its robust roster. As more and more wrestlers complain of unhappiness with their creative direction, it’s understandable why some men and women on the roster should be concerned about what decisions are made with their placement.

NXT has become the brand for “hardcores,” where those who want to act like they are “too cool” to enjoy mainstream wrestling turn to for great matches, with the names they know and high-quality production. The shakeup stands to be an opportunity for some of these men and women to get picked up by the main roster brands, and for some that will be a big moment in their career. Competitors like Mandy Rose, Ruby Riot, Elias, Baron Corbin and others have enjoyed main roster runs that eclipsed their NXT tenures. But for many, the call up to the main roster has caused unfortunate career damage that some may not recover from.

With that in mind, this list looks at five talents that should hope they remain on the black and yellow brand. While they may not reach homes on network television, NXT is their best bet to avoid being marginalized in a way that causes irreparable harm.
