WWE: 5 Best Possible Feuds for Roman Reigns on SmackDown Live
4. Finn Balor
As was mentioned earlier, Roman Reigns doesn’t need to prove anything by becoming WWE Champion. He could just as easily be a great choice to tackle Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor and help elevate the championship. We’ve seen a few clashes between Balor and Reigns during their time on WWE Raw, but no lengthy rivalry between the two.
Perhaps the most intriguing possibility between them would be Finn Balor’s persona as “The Demon.” If Roman Reigns were to topple Finn Balor and end his reign as Intercontinental Champion, we could see Balor bring “The Demon” to a big event like SummerSlam to take things up a notch and reclaim his title. There’s no denying the matches these two could have, and their rivalry could be just as great.
5. Daniel Bryan
We’ve only seen one big-stage singles match between Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. It took back all the way in 2015, where Roman Reigns faced off with Daniel Bryan at WWE Fastlane. In the match, Reigns was forced to put his WrestleMania title shot on the line, which he’d earned by winning the 2015 Royal Rumble. What followed was one of Roman Reigns’ best matches ever at that point in his career.
It was great then, but a lot has changed in the last four years. Roman Reigns has grown exponentially as a character and a performer. On top of that, Daniel Bryan has gone through a career-changing string of injuries and returned to glorious fanfare, only to change into “The New” Daniel Bryan.
Reigns is one of WWE’s top merchandise sellers, and there’s no doubt Bryan would be bothered by his willingness to embrace WWE’s capitalist machine. These two men could give us a completely different rivalry and match than they did in 2015, but definitely one that could be just as good if not even better.
