WWE SmackDown: 5 women who could win their first main roster title
Liv Morgan
It says a lot that WWE chose Liv Morgan out of the three members of the Riott Squad to branch off on her own on SmackDown Live, but her tongue color fits the brand color. Beyond that, Morgan has been slept on by many fans, as she’s one of the toughest wrestlers and best sellers in the WWE Women’s Division. In six-woman tag matches, Liv does everything she can to stand out, putting one thousand times the effort into these tag matches than WWE does.
Morgan just gets it. She does all the little things – from screaming and cackling to bumping like Sasha Banks or Dolph Ziggler – to try and set herself apart, but that was difficult to do as a member of a three-woman faction on a three-hour show that didn’t do anything to showcase her.
On SmackDown Live, Liv has a chance to break out. It was my colleague Josh Raibick who wrote in July last year that Morgan has all the tools to become a Women’s Champion one day. We’ll get to see those traits on full display in 2019, because Morgan figures to be a player in a 14-woman division that could soon have three hours to work with instead of just two.
Since she was with the Riott Squad and barely had singles matches, Morgan is the biggest sleeper of the women on this list, but she has so much upside. Her athleticism, ability to entertain the crowd, and quirky character could make her a fan favorite soon enough.
