Kairi Sane

Currently, Kairi Sane is in a tag team with Asuka, brought up to the main roster from NXT by their tag team manager Paige, who surely has her eyes set on taking the Women’s Tag Team Championships from the IIconics.

Sane and Asuka should be an entertaining tag team, but, at some point, the two will go their separate ways, perhaps with Asuka turning on Sane – the ultimate babyface.

There is no doubt that Sane is one of the best wrestlers in the world today, and she quickly earned the utmost respect from the NXT Universe, winning the overall NXT Competitor of the Year award for 2018.

A former NXT Women’s Champion who has seemingly been the only woman to successfully go toe-to-toe with Shayna Baszler since Ember Moon – we’ll get to her later – Sane is a good bet to be a multi-time women’s champion on the main roster. WWE may have issues booking her, but her ability to get herself over with the crowd should transcend any of those worries. Sane is one of the world’s best athletes (the main roster crowd was in immediate awe of her elbow drop, which is by far the best in the business), story-tellers, and sellers.

Whether or not Sane wins the SmackDown Women’s Championship in 2019 or 2020 remains unclear, but I’d bank on her holding gold sooner rather than later – and I’m not just talking about the tag team championships. Kairi is in a class of her own as an overall performer, and WWE fans will have their eyes on a certain pirate ship at Raymond James Stadium when WrestleMania 36 rolls around.
