WWE Raw: Rating every traded superstar’s chance of winning a title after Shakeup
The Superstar Shakeup featured a couple of big call-ups – the War Raiders and Kairi Sane – and several huge “trades”, namely AJ Styles and Roman Reigns. But what are the chances of every traded or called up superstar winning a main roster title on WWE Raw in the 2019-2020 “season”.
Because WWE doesn’t have an offseason, it doesn’t actually have a “season”. In a lot of ways, though, the Superstar Shakeup serves as the beginning of a new “season” in WWE, which spans from one WrestleMania to another.
This year, the Superstar Shakeup featured a swap of champions in Finn Balor and Samoa Joe, Naomi moving to Raw, a swap of top male stars in AJ Styles and Roman Reigns, the break up of Sasha Banks and Bayley, The Usos moving to Raw, the SmackDown Women’s Division getting absolutely stacked with talent, and Kairi Sane getting called up to form a tag team with Asuka.
With so many moving parts heading into Money in the Bank this year, the eventual Road to WrestleMania 36 will be exciting. It’s so difficult to predict which wrestlers will pick up titles in between now and next April, but let’s do our best to predict the chances of each traded or called up superstar winning some gold on WWE Raw in the next several months.
Zelina Vega
Andrade “Cien” Almas’s business associate, Zelina Vega hasn’t been an actual singles competitor on the main roster since both superstars were called up from NXT to the main roster last year. On SmackDown Live, Andrade and Zelina shined, including in several mixed tag settings, though they weren’t quite able to win a title.
On WWE Raw, Zelina and Andrade will be more cutthroat in their approach, especially with Money in the Bank approaching on May 19. We could see Zelina get some real opportunities as a singles competitor, and her name should pop up frequently around MITB time. The Raw Women’s Division has less depth than SmackDown following the shakeup, which means a superstar like Zelina could break out.
That said, it’s highly unlikely for her to win a championship between now and WrestleMania 36, though, of course, it’s not “impossible” either.
Rating 2/10, Don’t count on a big win for Vega, but you should be excited to see more of her brilliance on Monday nights.
