The Miz

It’s hard to believe that The Miz never won a championship in his latest run on SmackDown Live, yet he still remained just as worthy of our attention as ever. The man who made the Intercontinental Championship prestigious had fierce rivalries with Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon, showcasing his devilish heel tendencies in his feud with Bryan – even using a doll to pretend he brought his daughter to SmackDown – and his bad-ass babyface heroics in a feud with Shane that will continue on Raw.

Miz is one of the most accomplished superstars in WWE. He’s beaten John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania in a WWE Championship match, won Money in the Bank, captured the tag title six times, won the US Title twice, won Mixed Match Challenge Season 1 with Asuka, and held the Intercontinental Championship eight times.

In other words, he’s set as a performer. However, there’s one title that’s escaped his grasp, and that’s the Universal Championship. Don’t be surprised if Miz makes a play for that championship, and I’d consider him a sleeper to win the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Rating: 4/10, Miz doesn’t need a title, but definitely expect him to be in the discussion for Raw’s biggest prize.

Ricochet

Few superstars have Ricochet’s potential, and the 30-year-old Kentucky native looks set for a memorable run on WWE Raw. His tag team work with Aleister Black has been exemplary, with the two putting on the performances of a lifetime against the War Raiders (we’ll get to them later!) at NXT TakeOver: New York.

Though Ricochet and Black have been unable to capture a tag team championship despite opportunities at every brand’s titles, that may be by design. Their first championships in WWE will probably be as singles competitors, and it’s safe to say that both men should be considered among the favorites to win the United States Championship.

Between the two of them, Ricochet seems more likely to win a title in the short-term. Because of his acrobatics in the ring, Ricochet already stands out and commands attention. The former North American Champion is so good in the ring that there’s no doubt he can lead Raw’s mid-card scene as US Champ.

Rating: 6/10, Ricochet has “future champion” written all over him. One day, he’ll win the WWE Championship, but that won’t be for a couple of more years.
