Samoa Joe (c) vs. Rey Mysterio [U.S. Championship]🔴

Since Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio had a very brief match at WrestleMania 35 and neither are in the MITB Ladder Match, they are most likely resuming their feud onward to MITB. On Raw, Mysterio picked up a win on U.S. Champion Samoa Joe, thereby signifying another U.S. Title Shot for the master of the 619.

It looks like Mysterio’s injury may have prevented him from having a lengthy match with Joe at Mania as well as prevented the continuation of his son’s role in the storyline. Dominic, Mysterio’s son, is now back in the storyline, for he suddenly appeared to hug Mysterio after his pyrrhic victory against Joe on Raw. Despite Braun Strowman’s teased feud with Joe on the SmackDown after WrestleMania, Mysterio could eventually dethrone Joe for the U.S. Championship to make his son proud.

Many might think that Joe has to win to defend his title against Strowman in the near future, but a feud between them also does not need the United States Championship; they could easily have a monstrous feud and still be interesting without the title. Meanwhile, Mysterio desperately needs the title to remain a relevant threat on Raw when working with the hungrier and younger stars on a week-to-week basis.
