4. Baron Corbin

Mr. Money in the Bank of two years ago, Baron Corbin, continues to be a very popular figure in the Raw locker room and a very prominent figure on Raw programming. Having failed his attempted cash in, supposedly due to issues with the presentation of his personality, Corbin could be in for a re-run.

Much like Drew McIntyre, Corbin has been feuding with The Shield for a while. Also, like Drew McIntyre, Corbin has a big win over Kurt Angle. However, Corbin’s win was Angle’s retirement and is a well that WWE continually go back to for good reason. There is a high level of very effective hatred for Corbin, making him a great potential heel champion in the JBL mold.

Baron Corbin is also one of the most protected heels in the company, both in terms of wins/losses and in terms of his finisher. The End Of Days has still never been kicked out of in over four years on the WWE main roster. Despite high profile losses to the lines of John Cena and Finn Balor, Corbin’s acceptance of his creative lot and his commitment to his role is certain to lead to a big push in future.

This time though? Maybe not. With the wealth of talent on the roster a repeat winner this soon after his last win seems unlikely. Also, Corbin doesn’t really need the briefcase at this point; a title win by conventional methods is becoming more and more plausible and despite the negativity around Corbin, a title run is unlikely to make people turn off as long as his challengers are credible.
