Cesaro has quietly been on a roll since being a late addition for Monday Night Raw in the Superstar Shake-Up. If his recent performances are any indication, “The Swiss Superman” may be in line for the singles push he’s deserved for a long time.

Cesaro has built a legacy as one of the most criminally underrated wrestlers in WWE history, if not pro wrestling as a whole. Every time his momentum has turned out to be fool’s gold, he has somehow managed to make the best out of iffy storytelling and come out looking better.

A spur-of-the-moment pairing with Tyson Kidd made them into one of the best tandems in the company before the latter’s unfortunate career-ending injury in June 2015. An anti-climactic ending to a Best of Seven series with Sheamus in mid-2016 birthed a stellar tag team with five title reigns on their resume.

Sheamus was sidelined shortly after WrestleMania and Cesaro was drafted from SmackDown to Raw, splitting The Bar up at least for the time being. In Cesaro’s Raw return, he answered Cedric Alexander’s open challenge and picked up the victory in a quality first-time encounter between the two competitors.

After randomly disappearing – Main Event appearance aside – for a few weeks after besting Alexander, Cesaro returned to antagonize Rey Mysterio about his son. Playing off of the personal element, the two put on an exceptional performance with Rey emerging victorious.

His streak of good matches against high flyers continued the next week in a winning effort against Ricochet. While three admirable Monday Night Raw performances don’t exactly guarantee Cesaro anything, it’s difficult not to get excited for his future on the brand.

In addition to defeating Ricochet, Cesaro debuted a new entrance theme, which could very well signify that his solo run is more than just a temporary thing. If that is the case, now is as good a time as ever for Cesaro to rise on Monday nights.

Over the years, “The Swiss Cyborg” has had his share of big moments. He was the inaugural Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner, he spent nearly eight months as United States Champion and won a total of six Tag Team Titles. For some reason however, Cesaro hasn’t ascended to the main event prominence that someone with his level of talent should’ve been elevated to a long time ago.

Nonetheless, Cesaro’s recent string of matches are encouraging for his success on a Monday Night Raw brand that is still working to pick up steam post-WrestleMania. Cesaro could feasibly insert himself into the United States Championship picture with the status of that title up in the air and could even fit well as a challenger for the Universal Championship if his momentum continues.

Next. 24/7 Championship could be a much needed breath of fresh air. dark

As a good guy, bad guy, solo competitor, tag team wrestler, Raw or SmackDown Superstar, Cesaro has repeatedly showcased his capacity to adapt and excel irregardless of the circumstances he has been placed under. Unless The Bar’s breakup is only temporary, there is no reason why Cesaro shouldn’t be allowed to achieve his full potential as a singles wrestler going forward.
