WWE: SmackDown has a far better booked tag division than Raw

For weeks, WWE has forced us to suffer through some horrible comedy segments from the Raw tag team division, while SmackDown’s division seems to be set to thrive.

When you think of WWE, or even just pro wrestling in general, there’s probably a few sure-fire elements you’ll think of. You’ll probably think of your favorite matches, or some fiery promos which really struck home for you. Some death-defying spots might come to mind as well, or maybe even some comedy bits.

Indeed, WWE, and pro wrestling as a whole, can have it’s hilarious moments. Look no further than some of the antics which have surrounded the 24/7 Championship lately for proof:

Then again, WWE has been known just as much for it’s hits as it’s misses when it comes to comedy. Lately, we’ve seen a fair share of those misses come during the rivalry between The Usos and The Revival.

From “Ucey Hot” to intense games of cornhole, this rivalry hasn’t exactly delivered on the laughs. Sure, you can tell WWE is trying to be funny, but that’s sort of like saying “The Ridiculous 6” was trying to be a comedy movie. If the material is this downright terrible, there’s no hope of getting any laughs.

To make matters worse, it’s pretty clear The Usos and The Revival are both talented enough to pull off a comedic rivalry. In fact, The Usos have had some of the better humorous segments in recent memory with their rap battles against The Bar and New Day.

These recent weeks have been undeniably rough though. Nevertheless, It’s been all that we’ve really had to go on for tag team angles in WWE recently, at least until Daniel Bryan and Rowan returned to SmackDown to seemingly start their first major title feud.

Bryan cut a typically great promo on a recent SmackDown, which quickly prompted Heavy Machinery to hit the ring to challenge them to a title match.

Otis and Tucker were 2 of the more promising call-ups from the recent batch of NXT promotions. They had a great connection with audiences, and showed an impressive ability for cutting hilarious promos.

On the main roster, they really haven’t had much of a chance to show that to a wider audience, with the exception of a brief angle with The Ascension on Raw a little while back. Now however, it seems like they’re primed to make that leap into stardom.

A potential world title feud with Daniel Bryan and Rowan has not only the potential for exciting in-ring action, but extremely entertaining promo wars as well. Their respective gimmicks are practically perfectly aligned to deliver some solid laughs, turning this rivalry into basically the perfect spotlight to showcase Heavy Machinery’s skills.

It’s exactly the kind of sound booking of the tag team division that Raw seems to be missing right now.

The Revival and The Usos have clearly gone down a humorless, and far from entertaining path in their rivalry. The best we can hope for at this point is that these 2 get a significant spotlight to showcase their world-class talent in the ring, before quickly going their separate ways so we can all try our best to forget the horrendous segments that led to said match.

Next. Please WWE, give us Buddy Murphy vs. Aleister Black. dark

At the moment, SmackDown simply looks to be on a far better track than Raw when it comes to booking their respective tag team divisions. Hopefully, it wont’t be long until WWE realizes the mistakes they’re making on Raw, and makes the necessary changes before we have to suffer through any more awkward “comedy” segments.
