Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL & SANADA) vs. Guerrillas of Destiny (c) (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) (Bullet Club) /w Jado – IWGP Tag Team Championship

Before getting in the ring, Jado killed the ring announcer with the kendo stick, and I find this hilarious for some reason. Tama Tonga started the match with SANADA. Tama Tonga got a mixed reaction, but SANADA was cheered unanimously. SANADA was slightly quicker than Tama Tonga, and almost got the Paradise Lock on, but Tama Tonga fought out. Tanga Loa and EVIL tagged in, and the power guys were in the ring.

EVIL started to work over Loa with a series of hard chop, but only got a two count. Jado took a swipe at EVIL and distracted him, and Jado managed to hit a kendo stick shot to EVIL’s back. Both teams ended up brawling on the outside of the ring. As the referee wasn’t looking, Jado hit EVIL with the kendo stick again. Tama Tonga ran EVIL into the barricade. They proceeded to get the heat on EVIL for the next several minutes with double team moves. Loa went for a kick to EVIL, but EVIL caught it, threw it to the referee, and then kicked him in the leg to drop him.

EVIL made the hot tag to SANADA, and SANADA managed to lock the Paradise Lock on Loa before hitting a dropkick and a tope on Tama Tonga. SANADA flew back into the ring and hit Jado with a tope too, before dropkicking Loa to release him from the Paradise Lock. This advantage didn’t last long before Tonga and Loa were able to overpower SANADA. Tama Tonga sent SANADA into the corner and SANADA floated over and hit a springboard dropkick.

EVIL put Tama Tonga on the top rope and hit a huge top rope superplex. SANADA hit a moonsault while EVIL locked on the Scorpion Death Lock. Tanga Loa managed to make the save but SANADA and EVIL managed a big combination on Tonga ending with a huge back suplex.

EVIL locked the Scorpion on Tama Tonga again as SANADA locked Tanga Loa in the Skull End! Jado pulled the referee out of the ring just as Tama Tonga tapped out, and the match is not over. Jado nailed EVIL with a kendo stick shot and went for another, but BUSHI made the save and spit mist in Jado’s face before killing him with a kendo stick shot! SANADA and EVIL went for the Magic Killer, but Tama Tonga kicked SANADA away and rolled up EVIL and hooked the tights to get the pinfall!

Result: GoD

Rating: ***1/2 (3.5 stars out of 5)

It’s very rare that we get a finish that isn’t clean in NJPW, so when this happens it’s best to pay attention to the story they’re telling. I think this ends with SANADA and EVIL winning the titles eventually.

Shibata’s music hit, and he came out to a great reaction. He then pointed to the entrance ramp and welcomed KENTA to NJPW! KENTA has entered the G1 Climax tournament! KENTA is a huge signing for NJPW and a major get for them. I am very excited to see where this goes
