The world of wrestling rumors is a fast paced minefield, with WWE, Impact, NJPW, AEW and many more promotions constantly ushering in talent signing and releases, planning matches or other spectacles and shifting their backstage building blocks. Let’s see if we can make sense of what’s going on, shall we?

I’m Tom Colohue and these are your Wrestling Rumor Reactions.

Lars Sullivan out for the year

You might have noticed that Lars Sullivan is not on your screens as much as he used to be. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter are reporting that this is due to a major injury sustained by hashtag The Freak.

Sullivan has been on the main roster for more than two months now. In that time, he has feuded with the Lucha House Party and only the Lucha House Party. Whatever they were planning to do with Sullivan, for the second time since his call up, now won’t happen.

I’ve speculated before that Sullivan vs Reigns would have been the long term plan. It’s starting to look like it’s not worth the planning any more.

Scarlett Bordeaux leaves Impact, but Killer Kross is still under contract

This past Tuesday, Impact Wrestling announced that they released Scarlett Bordeaux from her contract of employment.

Further investigation by the Pro Wrestling Sheet however shows that Bordeaux’s partner Killer Kross is still under contract with the company.

Bordeaux’s next move is being heavily speculated but I remain hopeful that the next move will be the right one. There is an opinion that the “Diva” concept has no place in modern wrestling but in reality those Divas that were capable wrestlers are all fondly remembered. There is a place for body confidence and sexuality in the world of wrestling.

WWE UK TV moving from Sky to BT Sport

On Thursday, WWE sent out a press release detailing that from Jan. 2020 WWE programming would be moving from Sky Sports to BT Sport.

This is big news. I have very fond memories of Monday Night Raw showing on Friday night and being recorded onto video tape for my 10-year old self to watch the following Monday. Pay-per-views without a go home show is an experience.

That said, BT Sport is considerably cheaper, even if it is much less available at this current time. BT, since appearing on the scene has been scooping up major sports franchises right from under Sky’s nose. How they’re making a profit I have no idea but this could potential move WWE programming to a whole new audience.

Nikki Bella forced into retirement

Nikki Bella’s last match was against Ronda Rousey at Evolution 2018. Yes, I said 2018 because I’m hopeful that there will be future installments of Evolution. Now, after an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, Bella announced details of injuries that have forced her into retirement.

“I herniated the disc above where I had surgery. I have all this inflammation around the metal and then, I have a cyst on my brain.”

Since the brand split, Nikki Bella has delivered well on matches and storylines. It would be a shame to see it ended here but when it comes to someone’s health, we don’t want to see risks taken.

Alexa Bliss thought her career was over

In an extensive interview with the New York Post, Alexa Bliss spoke at length about how her previous head injuries had impacted her.

“Absolutely, I think after the second concussion I was very worried about not being able to get back in the ring, especially because I didn’t know what was going on with my brain.”

“There’s so many different types of concussions and I didn’t know that at the time. Each one had to be treated differently and the fact that I didn’t know what was going on with my brain and didn’t know until I saw the concussion specialist, it made me very scared.”

Bliss is, of course, wrestling tonight at Stomping Grounds so thankfully the injury didn’t stick but much like with Nikki Bella, it’s always better not to take the risk.

CM Punk seriously isn’t coming back to wrestling

So if people could stop acting surprised about that, that would be great.
