WWE should add Sonya Deville and Billie Kay to the growing feud for the women’s tag titles between The Kabuki Warriors and The IIconics.

After months of waiting, it looks like we’ll finally get to see the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships defended on an actual pay-per-view again.

Since The IIconics ducked out of a title match against The Kabuki Warriors on SmackDown, all signs would seemingly point to the 2 teams facing off once again at SummerSlam.

However, those two tandems shouldn’t be the only superstars representing the women’s tag division at WWE’s premier summer show. A third team should be added to that match, and whether you call them Fire and Desire, Absolution or simply Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose, they too deserve to get their time to shine at SummerSlam.

Fans might not always realize it, but Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville have been two of the most consistent superstars on the roster. Rose and Deville have quietly put together some solid feuds that have been highlighted by similarly solid in-ring work during their time in WWE.

Their presence in the aforementioned women’s tag title match would add some excitement to not only the bout itself, but the build leading up to it as well.

Currently, the angle between The Kabuki Warriors and The IIconics doesn’t seem very fleshed out beyond Peyton Royce and Billie Kay’s status as essentially paper champions. Whether that’s the right route for WWE to take with the feud is up for debate, but either way it’s simply not a very compelling storyline to watch.

Adding Fire and Desire to the mix could not only inject some doubt into what many would likely see as Asuka and Kairi Sane’s guaranteed coronation as champions otherwise, but it could also lead to a headline-catching storyline regarding Paige’s history with these respective teams.

If WWE chose to have Rose and Deville try to sway Paige back to being their manager, it could lead to the kind of drama and intrigue that creates a buzzed about angle, even on the build to a show as stacked as SummerSlam.

If WWE didn’t go down that route though, the mere fact that Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose would both be game champions who could put on great titles defenses if they won the belts would be more than enough to warrant their inclusion in the match on its own.

At the end of the day, a show like SummerSlam should be a WrestleMania-style showcase of what the WWE roster does best. With some people seemingly beginning to question WWE’s decision to create the women’s tag titles, the match for the belts at SummerSlam should be a major spotlight for all of the women in the division to prove those doubters wrong by putting on an amazing match.

Next. Braun Strowman is a wild card on the build to SummerSlam. dark

By adding Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to the equation, WWE would only be increasing the likelihood that we see both a memorable match and exciting story that helps to re-solidify the women’s tag team championships as the premier titles they ought to be.
