WWE Clash of Champions 2019 will be the stage where all championships will be defended. Now that the WWE has new executive directors, this PPV could even be the scene of retold storylines. The following will prepare some early match card predictions for one of the most exciting PPVs of the year.

From WWE Raw, my anticipated matches are as follows:

(1) Seth Rollins (c) vs. Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship, (2) Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sasha Banks for the Raw Women’s Championship, (3) AJ Styles (c) vs. Braun Strowman for the United States Championship, (4) The OC vs. Viking Raiders for the Raw Tag Team Championships, and (5) Drew McIntyre vs. Kevin Owens for the King of the Ring Tournament Finals.

From WWE SmackDown, my anticipated matches are as follows:

(1) Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, (2) Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, (3) Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Aleister Black for the Intercontinental Championship, (4) The New Day (c) vs. The Revival for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, and (5) Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan and Rowan in a handicap match.

Without further ado, let’s predict the Clash of Champions 2019 card, starting with the two potential kickoff matches:

(1) Drew Gulak (c) vs. Oney Lorcan for the Cruiserweight Championship and (2) Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (c) vs. Fire and Desire for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Drew Gulak (c) vs. Oney Lorcan (Cruiserweight Championship: Submission Match)

At SummerSlam 2019, Drew Gulak retained his Cruiserweight Championship against Oney Lorcan via pinfall. However, Lorcan articulated that Gulak has never made him tap out.

This challenge could lead to a submission match, in which Gulak will inevitably make Lorcan tap out with the “Gulock”, and resume his cruiserweight title reign with new challengers in the months to come.

Prediction: Drew Gulak

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (c) vs. Fire and Desire (Women’s Tag Team Championships)

When the IIconics were Women’s Tag Team Champions, many WWE fans considered the treatment of the women’s tag team division to be egregious due to the severe lack of women’s tag team championship matches.

Now that Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross are the new Women’s Tag Team Championships, they have already successfully defended their championships against IIconics at SummerSlam, and against Kabuki Warriors on the Raw after SummerSlam.

The only other tag team Bliss and Cross have to defeat on their own is Fire and Desire, so it seems very likely that this match will take place at Clash of Champions.

Since Bliss and Cross have been persistently defending their titles and keeping them relevant in medium-quality matches, they should be safe to retain against Fire and Desire and resume their women’s tag title reign with new challengers in the months to come.

Prediction: Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross
