A look back at five of the greatest collections of superstars to ever set foot in a WWE ring, including everyone from Bret Hart to Roman Reigns, and more.

Stables have always had an important role in character development for WWE. Future main event talent have started in a stable that has allowed them to find their voice and strengthen their character.

This article will look at five of the greatest stables in WWE history. It will not list The Four Horseman, The Dangerous Alliance, the nWo, or others due to those stables not being created in WWE.

The Radicalz

Members: Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit

These four guys were synonymous with WCW, and the problems that plagued WCW for years. All four were the workhorses that had matches that helped WCW separate themselves from WWE in the infamous Monday Night Wars.

The challenge for WCW fans was that they never became main event players in WCW. Yes, Chris Benoit held the WCW World Heavyweight Championship once, but his win was seemingly nothing more than an attempt to keep Benoit in WCW.

On Monday Night RAW on January 31st, 2000 the four men appeared in the crowd. Fans and wrestlers knew who they were from the second they were shown on camera. There was a level of excitement for fans because these four could finally fulfill their potential in WWE.

Their start in WWE was incredible. The luster was short lived as Eddie Guerrero would soon dislocate his elbow leaving him unable to compete for some time. Six months after he debuted, Chris Benoit would be the first to have a WWE Championship match when he faced The Rock at the Fully Loaded PPV.

All four would eventually go their separate ways in WWE.

Dean Malenko would hold the WWE Light Heavyweight Championship. It was apparent that Malenko’s best days were behind him due to injuries, and poor character development.

Perry Saturn would hold the WWE Hardcore and European Championship at different times, but he never really lived up to his potential.

Guerrero and Benoit would go on to have decorated careers. Due to tragic reasons, both men are no longer with us.

The crowning moment of The Radicalz would have to be at WrestleMania 20 after Chris Benoit defeated HHH and Shawn Michaels to become the WWE Heavyweight Champion. An embrace between Guerrero, who was also a Heavyweight Champion on SmackDown, and Benoit, as lifelong friends who had traveled the roads for decades followed. They finally achieved the pinnacle of their profession, and it should have been one of the greatest images in the history of WWE. We all know why it is not.

Understandably, WWE attempts to erase the memory of Chris Benoit. The Radicalz were an incredible stable for what they did in the ring, and what their move from WCW to WWE signified in the fans eyes.

When The Radicalz showed up to WWE, it was the end of WCW as a dominant wrestling company.
