It’s finally time for Tegan Nox to break out in the NXT and NXT UK women’s divisions

Tegan Nox has a future ahead of her in NXT UK that’s shinier than her own shining wizard, assuming she can avoid the injury bug once and for all.

This past week marked a notable return to the ring, as Tegan Nox made her highly anticipated comeback on NXT UK after over a year away, and defeated Shax in record time.

Nox was last seen competing in the 2018 Mae Young Classic. She suffered a second knee injury during a quarterfinal match with Rhea Ripley, and was forced to pull out from the remainder of the tournament. She was expected by some to win the whole thing before getting sidelined.

It was incredibly unfortunate considering she already had to miss the inaugural Mae Young Classic due to an ACL tear in her other knee the year prior. Now, she’s finally back where she belongs inside the squared circle, and is destined for super stardom in both NXT and NXT UK.

Only a handful of ladies can say they’ve divided their time between NXT and NXT UK over the last year with Ripley being among them.

The former NXT UK Women’s champion recently defeated Piper Niven on NXT UK before challenging NXT Women’s champion Shayna Baszler to a non-title match on NXT the very next week.

Toni Storm is also rumored to be on her way over to Full Sail University after dropping the NXT Women’s title at TakeOver: Cardiff late last month.

Although Nox resurfaced on NXT UK and not NXT, she should join them and pull double duty on both brands.

Nox is one of the company’s most talented female competitors, and deserves to be showcased on every platform possible. Plus, with NXT set to expand to two hours starting next week, their women’s division could use all the star power it can get.

For those unfamiliar with the former Nixon Newell, she debuted in wrestling six years ago and quickly made a name for herself in promotions such as PROGRESS, SHIMMER, and WCPW. She was signed by WWE to a developmental deal at the age of 22.

Nox might be best known for her partnership with fellow NXT Superstar Dakota Kai, together making up Team Kick. The duo has yet to appear alongside each other on NXT TV, but it might be only a matter of time now that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship can be defended on any brand.

Even while flying solo, Nox can more than hold her own when that bell rings, not to mention that her natural charisma and contagious personality make it easy for fans to root for her.

With the right booking, there’s no reason she can’t be a star wherever she wrestles.

Before Team Kick reunites, it looks like Nox will first be challenging Kay Lee Ray for her newly won NXT UK Women’s Championship. Ray interrupted Nox’s post-match celebration this past week, indicating that they’ll likely be on a collision course sooner rather than later.

It’d be surprising to see Nox take that title from Ray at any point in the foreseeable future, simply because Ray is barely a month into her reign.

However, there would be nothing wrong with building Nox up as a worthy contender to the championship over the next few months by having her beat the best NXT UK women’s division has to offer.

That should include Ripley, who Nox has unfinished business with from their face-off in the 2018 Mae Young Classic.

Although Ripley technically wasn’t responsible for Nox getting hurt, “The Mosh Pit Kid” certainly tried to take credit for it after the fact and used that heat from fans to her advantage.

Ripley didn’t emerge from her aforementioned outing with Baszler victorious, but she did make it clear that she has her sights set on that NXT Women’s Championship.

It would make sense for her to be the one to ultimately dethrone “The Queen of Spades”, only to immediately enter a feud with Nox over the title.

That’s why Nox should maintain a presence on both brands as much as possible going forward, just so the NXT Universe is aware of who she is when she’s inevitably a part of the program full-time.

There is a lot of women NXT can build around at the moment, but none of them are the complete package like Nox is.

Nox has promised that she is faster, stronger, and (most importantly) shinier than she’s ever been before, and if she can stay healthy this time around, she’ll have no problem finding success with the skills she possesses.
