On September 14, IMPACT Wrestling presents the return of the Victory Road event live from Enid, OK. Here’s five matches to check out prior to the show.

The “Victory Road” name has been used as the first-ever monthly PPV, several exceptionally awful PPVs, One Night Only events, a Knockouts exclusive One Night Only event, TV Specials, and now an IMPACT Plus event.

With the great variety in these shows of the same name, comes some intriguing match-ups that can be found on this year’s broadcast destination, IMPACT Plus. Here are five recommended bouts from the Victory Road chronology.

World X Cup 2008 Four Team Elimination Match

In not only one of the best Victory Road matches, but best PPV openers in company history, the World X Cup rolled on with a show-stealer of a tag match.

The match has an insane list of talent, featuring TJP as Puma, Christopher Daniels as Curry Man, The Motor City Machine Guns, and international stars like Ultimo Guerrero and Masato Yoshino.

The match defines “total nonstop action”, and is a true roller coaster of X-Division style wrestling. These guys killed it in front of a hot Houston crowd which set the pace for an overall fun show.
