Five IMPACT Wrestling Victory Road matches to watch
By Jack Irene
Jeff Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett
Once again, this match isn’t exactly a classic. It is a ladder match filled with sloppy spots, The Outsiders, and most importantly, the first main event in monthly TNA PPV history.
It featured the dominant company star, Jeff Jarrett going against the red-hot Jeff Hardy. This was the final bout in what was an eventful card, displaying Johnny B. Badd, Mexican minis, a last team standing match and much more goofy TNA nonsense.
Definitely check this entire card out for the historic meaning to the company, as well as the wacky additions to the IMPACT library.
Kurt Angle vs. Mick Foley
This recommendation is purely based on the star power inside of the ring.
It reminds me of one of the more costly mistakes in the company’s history, in their refusal to leave the IMPACT Zone. Here you have two industry stars, Kurt Angle and Mick Foley, squaring off in the main event of a PPV that had free admission. This match should be something that was talked about for years and years, but instead is just considered a Victory Road Main Event.
The match is worth watching for the strange dynamic between the Olympic Wrestler and Hardcore Icon.
