When Rey Mysterio became WWE Champion in 2006, he was placed in feuds where the theme was that Rey was the ultimate underdog. What can’t be denied is the magic in the air when WWE gets one of their David vs Goliath stories right.
Every year when March Madness rolls around fans flock to the Cinderella small school that upsets the big school. This King of the Ring final should be no different. Chad Gable is the small school on a magical run knocking off the bigger schools in the WWE’s version of March Madness.
Chad Gable beating Baron Corbin just means more than Baron Corbin beating Chad Gable.
Corbin dominates Gable with brute strength for the term of the match while arrogantly refusing to pin Gable. This will only make the Gable win mean more by having Gable show that never say die attitude that all great underdog heroes portray.
Gable and Corbin together can do more for the development of the Gable character in a 20 minute match than Gable has done on his own since his time on the main roster.
