Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman (c) vs. Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler – Raw Tag Team Championship

Bassam Kaado: There is only one scenario where I would say Ziggler and Roode win the tag belts. It’s such a weird sentence to write. But just like The Avengers, we have come to the one scenario that makes this a reality.

Rumor is Paul Heyman is high on Mr. Roode. This bout provides the WWE with a good opportunity to give him some gold, repay Ziggler for destroying himself against Goldberg last month, and add some more tension to the Universal Title picture.

Bryan Heaton:  “Strange bedfellow” tag teams have surprisingly good records in title matches as challengers, but not so much when it comes to defending them. Especially with another match later in the evening as opponents, the odds of Rollins and Strowman retaining are roughly the same as Virgil walking past an Olive Garden without going in for some meat sauce.

Chris Jeter: Behold, exhibits A-Z proving that Vince McMahon hates tag teams. I just don’t get it. Did Vince lose a doubles tennis match that colored his opinion on teamwork? Do tag teams not jive with an Ayn Rand-esque “everyone is a selfish jerk” mentality he probably has? Or does he simply think that they can’t draw and thus books the division as a joke?

Rollins and Strowman are the latest in the long line of “feuding wrestlers win the tag titles and struggle to co-exist”, a booking strategy that always makes the top teams that DO work together look like feeble goobers.

Speaking of decisions that make the tag teams look weak, Roode – who was barely on television before this push – and Ziggler – who was beaten like a drum for weeks on end – beat all the other RAW teams in a gauntlet match to get this title shot, sending the message that these scrubs are better than all of those duos. The people who write this show are morons.

Anyway, with Strowman acting paranoid about Rollins turning on him during this match, WWE’s booking history suggests that Strowman will turn on Rollins to get the unfair advantage in their Universal Championship match. So look for Roode and Ziggler to win the titles.

Chris Schad: This is the easiest prediction of the night. If Rollins and Braun retain their titles, the whole idea of any tension in the night’s main event goes out the window. Since this match will probably lead off the show, there’s a good chance someone is turning on someone. My guess, Rollins spends a majority in the match in the ring, but can’t get to the corner to tag Braun in. When Rollins finally gets there, Braun steps off the apron laughing and Rollins gets destroyed to crown new tag team champions

Joe Anthony Myrick: It should be an easy call to say Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman lose the Raw Tag Team Championship, but I have a hard time believing either man eats a pin from Ziggler or Roode. I think the champions surprise us by retaining. They’ll likely struggle to coexist, but perhaps solely out of sheer frustration towards each other heading into their Universal Title match, I think they’ll put all their aggression into the challengers and dominate to retain.

Mark Justice: I’m supposed to predict a tag team, but I don’t see any tag teams in this match. I’ll just assume the tag team division is on vacation then. Considering that Rollins and Strowman will probably not coexist with their Universal Championship looming in the balance. I’ll go with Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions.

Maysum Hudda: In a tag match no one could have predicted, a tag team formed three weeks ago takes on a team formed two weeks ago. Unlike most, I am onboard with the Strowman-Rollins tag team and see them retaining their titles. I think it makes for an interesting dynamic on RAW next Monday following their match later in the night.

Ryan Anderson: Roode and Ziggler have been a great pairing. Rollins and Strowman have been the
traditional “two wrestlers fighting each other but become tag team champions”
story that WWE loves. No one expected Rollins and Strowman to keep the belts for a
long time. WWE is investing heavily in the team of Roode and Ziggler. Itt makes
sense for them to win and become RAW Tag Team Champions.
