It feels like a new era in WWE is upon us, as SmackDown Live is debuting on FOX this October and Raw is about to look different, too. Not only is there a draft coming up to cement the new feel, but there will also reportedly be new theme songs for both shows.

“Take A Chance” served SmackDown Live well as a theme song, as the song title was fitting for a show that Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan consistently referred to as WWE’s “Land of Opportunity”.

Meanwhile, since the most recent brand split, Raw had two theme songs from mainstream rock bands – “Enemies” by Shinedown and “Born for Greatness” by Papa Roach – as the flagship show.

To give wrestling fans an auditory signal of a fresh switch into what could be seen as a new era of WWE programming, the company is reportedly getting new theme songs for both Raw and SmackDown. And like Raw, SmackDown will have a theme from a well-known rock band, since they are no longer portrayed as a “B” show due to the lucrative FOX deal.

Per WrestleVotes, Raw’s theme will be “Legendary” by Skillet, and SmackDown will use AC/DC’s “Are You Ready”.

Fresh themes are always fun, and the timing makes sense. It also doesn’t hurt that these are two completely different bands, and, yes, Skillet is awesome.

WWE have used Skillet songs for past PPV themes. “Feel Invincible” at Battleground 2016, “Monster” at Hell in a Cell 2009, and “Hero” at Royal Rumble 2010 were all used. “Hero” and “Monster” are arguably Skillet’s most famous songs.

As WrestleVotes notes, these themes have already been teased on WWE television recently.

Fans started speculating that AC/DC’s “Are You Ready” would be SmackDown’s theme when it was used in the video package hyping Kofi Kingston vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, which will be the headlining match for SD’s debut on FOX next Friday, Oct. 4.
